What you can do

Search by the kanji itself, a component it's built from, its reading (kana or romaji), or its English meaning.
Filter by stroke count, school grade, gojūon row, or radical — open Filters, no typing needed.

Types of input, with examples

火 — the kanji itself, or a component it's a piece of (finds compounds built from it too)
カ or ひ — a kana reading
ka or hi — the same readings in romaji
fire — an English meaning
Check English meaning only below the search box to search meanings alone, skipping kanji/component/reading matching entirely — a safety valve for the rare case a word you meant as English also happens to match a reading.

This app only has single-character data — typing a multi-kanji word searches just its first character.
